Matt is the owner and managing director of GPS-it, a software development and mapping company, with clients that include Zespri and Fonterra.
Raised on a dairy farm in the Waikato Matt is no stranger to the agriculture industry. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Natural Resources (Hons) from Lincoln and Canterbury and a Master’s in Agricultural Engineering from Massey. Matt’s interest in precision agriculture was ignited when he first saw yield mapping while visiting Virginia Tech in the late 1990’s.
Matt has travelled extensively over the past 5 years looking at new ag technology and ideas and has presented at a number of national and international conferences, such as the NZ AgTech mission to Silicon Valley and InfoAg.
Matt is also a director and shareholder of High Fives Orchard Ltd, growing over 60 canopy hectares of kiwifruit.
