Warwick is Science and Strategy Manager Ballance Agri-Nutrients
He has been with Ballance since 1989, when he started out as technical sales representative in the lower South Island of New Zealand. Since 2000 he has been based at Head Office in Tauranga in a r Warwick currently is programme manager for Ballance’s $19.5m PGP programme which aims to produce products and services to reduce the environmental footprint of nitrogen and phosphate on-farm.
Warwick has featured regularly as a speaker at rural media events and field days. He has been instrumental in the development of fertiliser industry policy over last 25 years, including the establishment of Fertmark, Spreadmark and the Fertiliser Code of Practice and the development of Overseer.
His previous involvement in the sector includes a stint as President of New Zealand Grasslands Association, winning the New Zealand Young Farmer of the Year Award, becoming a Commonwealth Scholar in 1998 and chairing the Southern Region Beef Council.
He is a board member of FertResearch and co-chairs its technical committee. Warwick has co-authored number of scientific papers on fertiliser related topics, and holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Honours) from Lincoln University. Warwick has been a member of range of roles managing science and agronomic matters.
